Psychotherapy, Art Therapy, and Support for New Parents

Areas of Practice

PSYCHOTHERAPY

In therapy, I focus on creating a safe and trusting relationship as a base from which we will explore your needs, fears, and desires. My approach incorporates elements of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and post-modern theories. I will help you to identify tools and techniques to develop your inner strengths and resources.

ART THERAPY

"A picture is worth a thousand words." Art therapy invites you to express experiences and feelings through visual, tangible images. No artistic skill is needed. Art therapy is widely used in schools, hospitals, and private practices, and its effectiveness has been demonstrated through research and clinical experience.

SUPPORT FOR NEW PARENTS

I have extensive experience supporting mothers and fathers of babies and young children. I provide treatment for post-partum depression and anxiety, relationship challenges after baby, and development of a new parent identity, with awareness and education about baby development. I also facilitate Parent & Me groups and classes.

Fees and Insurance

The fee for a 50-minute psychotherapy visit (in person or via telehealth) is $225, and a sliding scale may be available based on need.

If you would like to use your insurance plan, I am an in-network provider for Aetna, Cigna, and Optum, which may include some addition plans such as United under its umbrella. For any other insurance plan, I am an out-of-network provider and I can provide receipts which you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. The amount of reimbursement depends on the requirements of your specific insurance plan. You should be aware that insurance plans generally limit coverage to certain diagnosable mental conditions. I am unable to guarantee whether your insurance will provide payment for the services provided to you. You are responsible for communicating directly with your insurance provider, verifying and understanding the limits of your insurance coverage, and paying all fees in full at the time of session.

If you do not plan to file a claim with your insurance to cover any of the cost of treatment, you are entitled to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for psychotherapy services provided to you. While it is not possible for a psychotherapist to know, in advance, how many psychotherapy sessions may be necessary or appropriate for a given person, a Good Faith Estimate provides an estimate of the cost of services provided. Your total cost of services will depend upon the number of psychotherapy sessions you attend, your individual circumstances, and the type and amount of services that are provided to you. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to obtain any services listed in the estimate. You have a right to initiate a dispute resolution process if the actual amount charged to you substantially exceeds the estimated charges stated in your Good Faith Estimate (which means $400 or more beyond the estimated charges). You are encouraged to speak with me at any time about any questions you may have regarding fees, insurance, or the information provided to you in a Good Faith Estimate.
